Jason Quiterio

Head of Junior Squads

Recently appointed our Head of Juniors, Jason is also a school teacher and competitive swimmer (with more than 20 years racing experience!)

Jason is responsible for the club's junior programme and it the lead coach for the Junior 1 and 2 squads.

Jason is Plymouth born and bred and joined PL when he was just 8 years old - going on to represent the club in a national relay final. He still competes as a masters swimmer and recently qualified for the European Masters Championships. Jason has also played water polo at an international level. At one time or another, Jason has been a member of six difference clubs in Devon. "It is an absolute pleasure to be back with the club where my swimming started and to be in the fortunate position to coach and inspire the future of PL," he said.

Swimming and Plymouth Leander have been a big part of my life. I first joined the club as an 8 year old. My whole family have been members at the club at some point and it is a pleasure to now coach and be part of PLs history and help the club build on their success. As for motivation...that comes from the swimmers! Their energy, enthusiasm and love for swimming is second to none!

Personal Interests

I love the water! I have also played and refereed water polo, representing England schools as a youth and officiating up to National Level. I enjoy spending time by the sea with my family - if it involves the sun, it's even better!
